About Me

Vivienne Zhou

I am a health services researcher and my work focuses on causal inferences, and the application of innovative research methodologies to treatment and policy evaluation.

I received my PhD in Health Sciences from Simon Fraser University, where I was supervised by Dr. Hui Xie. My doctoral research, conducted at Arthritis Research Canada, focused on evaluating the long-term safety and effectiveness of biologic therapies in inflammatory arthritis as well as the impact of related policies using population-based administrative health data and innovative quasi-experimental (QE) designs.

In my postdoctoral work at the British Columbia (BC) Center on Substance Use, I am building on my expertise in QE designs, refining the methodologies and applying them to evaluate critical OUD interventions in BC.
